ABP UK is a food business, specialising in the supply and development of award-winning British and Irish beef and lamb products for retail, foodservice and wholesale. We have 19 operating sites across the UK and process over 700,000 cattle and 2 million sheep each week. 

We have strategic partnerships with the nation’s favourite supermarkets, wholesalers and restaurants, including over 100 Michelin star establishments. Chances are, if you eat Lamb or Beef, you’ve tried our product! 

We’re proud that our packaging team are consistently working towards more sustainable solutions for our customers, including introducing vacuum-packaging for minced and diced products. These innovations have led to us achieving a reduction in our packaging consumption of over 3,000 tonnes, over the past five years. However, we are still on a journey to tackle more difficult to recycle materials and are excited to see what our packaging team can achieve next!

FPA members include large global companies and smaller businesses, offering a broad range of foodservice products and services – plus organisations responsible for the waste collection, processing and recycling of foodservice packaging. All FPA members undertake to comply with the FPA Code of Practice, confirming their organisations operate to the highest standards.

The association ensures its members are better represented, networked and informed. Members’ interests are championed when meeting with UK governments and other stakeholders; FPA Awards showcase innovation and excellence; FPA Environment Seminars share expert insights from government, industry and academia; and the FPA weekly Digest disseminates complex legislation and industry issues into plain English.

With respect to packaging, there’s no doubt that advancements over the last 60 years have helped to mitigate many of the environmental and social harms relating to excessive food waste, health impacts, and reducing, reusing & recycling finite natural resources. However, global societies are also learning more every day that the decisions of the past need to be reviewed in light of people’s and the planet’s needs for the future. In too many parts of the world, our lands and oceans have been allowed to become unauthorised waste sites for a vast array of items discarded by humans, packaging included. That is why INCPEN’s membership and staff work with all those who share the ambition to be part of a future that learns from the past and adapts accordingly. INCPEN want to ensure societies retain the functional properties of packaging that prevent environmental harms whilst also working hard to ensure that packaging itself has a sustainable life in line with circular economy principles.

INCPEN work with governments, international organisations, civil society, businesses and municipalities. Those within the ‘packaging value chain’ are within their spheres of interest; including designers, manufacturers, packer / fillers, retailers, brands, consumers, local government, waste & resource management operators, re-processors, and supporting organisations like consumer & campaign groups and non-governmental organisations.

OPRL is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping consumers recycle more effectively. Working in collaboration with brands, retailers and the wider packaging supply chain, OPRL provides expert guidance on packaging recyclability and supports businesses in labelling packaging clearly and correctly.
Its aim is to empower consumers to make informed recycling decisions at the point of disposal. Independent research (April 2025) highlights the critical role of labelling, with two-thirds of consumers saying they prefer to buy from brands that use clear recycling labels.

OPRL members benefit from access to its trusted recycling labels, alongside exclusive tools, insights and technical support from its expert team. The organisation also represents its members in key industry discussions and supports them in navigating policy developments, including reducing Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) fees.
